Frequent Drywall Questions
Do I get different texture options?
There are several different styles of textures available. On walls, the most popular textures are the “Orange Peel” and the “Knock Down“ . The Knock Down adds a lot of unique character to your walls since it has the appearance of toweled stucco, but costs more due to being hand toweled vs. sprayed. Ceilings are usually done with an acoustic style texture. Acoustic texture has the appearance of cottage cheese, and significantly cuts down the amount of echo in your home.
Can I have rounded corners?
We install rounded corners upon request, but there is an increase in expense for the extra installation and finishing time required to achieve the finished result. Rounded corners are not very popular because of the extra expense, but does provide an opportunity for your home to have added unique qualities, which may help when it comes time to sell.
How long do most finishing jobs take?
Most jobs are complete from start to finish in 1 to 2 weeks, due to the drying and curing process that must take place for seam concealment.
Why should I use Rock and Tait for my drywall needs?
We understand the entire spectrum of home construction in West Central Wisconsin. All framing, wiring, and insulation are very important, and should be done correctly before the installation of any drywall. We have the ability to add framing members or completely air seal penetration points before installing drywall - one of the last steps of home construction.
